Fountain: Villigen 1841, with dog

Another fountain. I didn't notice the dog drinking out of it until he was almost done, so I don't have better pictures. Other posts featuring fountains:

He seems to be the sort of dog I would like to meet. I especially like the elegant spouts delivering the water. So much care was lavished on elegant design.

I thought that was a cat at first until you said it was a dog.

Oh my, that would be one enormous cat! It's a rather large dog as it is. Hm, maybe I need a overview photo of the fountain for scale.

Thats for visiting my blog.

Yes, the cat is cared for, and has food, water and a home -- I guess he just looks ugly. Skinny too.

Speaking of water... I think Switzerland is a country where the average tourist could consider drinking out of such a fountain (if he's real thirsty and noone is watching of course and unless a cat-like dog has been seen around recently). Tap water generally good, just like here?

Per: Yes, most of the fountains have potable water. If they don't, they have a tag indicating so, eg "kein Trinkwasser". I drink out of the fountains (from the spouts though, not the pool like the dog!) and haven't gotten sick so far.

Actually, I like that you caught the dog drinking in the fountain.

I guess know we know what the fountains are for. :-)
