Near Villigen: Lenzburg Castle

I have no material from Villigen that I want to show, so here is something from Schloss Lenzburg nearby. The original structure was built in the early 1100s. Shown here is part of the kitchen as it might have been from the 1500 to ?? The item hanging on the wall says 1779 but I don't know what that means.

Hofmann retrospective in Baden

Albert Hofmann, the man who was the first to synthesize LSD, was a Baden boy. The Historical Museum of Baden has an exhibition going on now about his life and work. And yes, the walls and floor are painted a color close to acid green.

Museum Rietberg

The simple elegance of the relatively new glass building of the Rietberg Museum in Zürich. Reflecting the Villa Wesendonck. The original owner of the estate, Otto Wesendonck was a fan and supporter of Richard Wagner and the latter spent a portion of this time in exile at a cottage here. He wrote the music to the Wesendonck Lieder during that time, as he had a special place in his heart for Mrs. Wesendonck.
