Tools represented

The eaves of old buildings in the old towns are often decorated with designs corresponding to the concept or object to which the buildings are dedicated. I got a crick in my neck along with many strange looks as I walked along the alley with my camera pointed up at the sky. This particular building on Mittlere Gasse in Baden has designs depicting tools of all sorts.

The design on that window (?) and the flower make a very nice photograph from this angle, Z.

You never know what intersting things you might miss when you don't glance up once in a while! I like this photo!

The light made this photo a difficult one to get right! What I am learning from photography is that the big picture is less important than the detail and this is found by looking up at the sky or down at your own feet.

Tanya: Thanks, and the same to you!

Eki: Not window but the overhang of the roof: I was looking straight up and this surface is a horizontal one and is parallel to the street (of course, three floors up from the ground). The planter box is on the window sill of a window, so it's actually the underside of the plant that's visible.

Claude: Maybe I should show some of the other panels.

Sherry: Exactly! You just need to make sure you don't stumble and fall on your face :-)

Julie: Yep, yep, yep. I made several attempts. The 'big picture' works when the 'canvas' is larger. I've limited myself to 640 pixels x 480 pixels (it was based on how large a page I could fit on the laptop screen on which I started blogging) and that rules out many wider-angle images.
