Bonsai at the Zulauf garden center (from yesterday's post).

Reposted because something strange was going on with the image display.

I have always had a soft spot for bonsais, although I've never been successful at keeping one alive myself. :)

This maple is a fine specimen.

I wish I could take you all on a trip to Zulauf. Some of the trees are really amazing - and goes without saying: expensive!

I love this bonsai! Do you have an idea what it might cost? Thousands?

Andreas: A couple of thousand, maybe. I'm not an expert, so I don't know how they're priced, so you shouldn't trust my estimate. I remember a few price tags, and they ran from a couple of thousand to several thousand, but the ages of the trees are obviously all different, and the types are also different, so maybe this wasn't that much, comparatively speaking. If you're anywhere near Aargau and like Bonsai, you must make a trip to Zulauf!
