Andreas: A couple of thousand, maybe. I'm not an expert, so I don't know how they're priced, so you shouldn't trust my estimate. I remember a few price tags, and they ran from a couple of thousand to several thousand, but the ages of the trees are obviously all different, and the types are also different, so maybe this wasn't that much, comparatively speaking. If you're anywhere near Aargau and like Bonsai, you must make a trip to Zulauf!
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. I have always had a soft spot for bonsais, although I've never been successful at keeping one alive myself. :)
This maple is a fine specimen.
Our fair back in San Diego always had great Bonsai specimens, they are just amazing!
I am in awe of bonsai trees! The time and patience in caring for one and the beautiful results just amaze me.
Beautiful bonsai!
It seems to be a giant bonzaï !!!l
I wish I could take you all on a trip to Zulauf. Some of the trees are really amazing - and goes without saying: expensive!
I love this bonsai! Do you have an idea what it might cost? Thousands?
