Excursion: Le Locle II

Here we have a close up of yesterday's scene, showing some of the details on the buildings. Note the palm tree, and the shades of lilac on the three buildings in front.

One of my readers yesterday made a comment about the green belt rules. I think that is an important factor in the zoning and use of land. There are sharp boundaries between the built-up areas and the surroundings. I rather appreciate it; nicer than sprawl.

Hi Z!
Yes, it's wonderful to see white "dots" of buildings on vast green pastoral field like. This picture and the picture the day before remind me of this phrase "a city upon a hill, the beacon of all humankinds."

"Stranger and stranger", said Alice. An 80' high palm tree on the side of one of the high rises. Rather un-Swiss. Good capture of an unusual juxtaposition.

Cube buildings in a very beautiful Swiss landscape. I prefer a Swiss house but I find your picture is nice. The light makes these buildings beautiful. I like very much the palmtree ! Have a nice week-end, Z !

Oh dear, I find this sadly ugly. Why on earth have a palm tree painted on the side of a building in Switzerland? The high-rise buildings to me are ugly and the colours only make them moreso. I see buildings like this and I suspect I am looking at the slums of the not too distant future.

Sorry to be such a party-pooper ...
