Another recyclables drop off point


We're about done with the various options available to us in Villigen for disposal of common unwanted material. PET (Wikipedia article) bottles and sundries can be dropped off at most grocery shops (including the small Volg we have right in the village, old post here.) Pictured above is the Coop (pronounced cope) supermarket in Würenlingen, just across the river Aare from us.

General comment: everything looks so clean and tidy and organised. 'Fraid we are not quite like that here in Oz: citizens do have a tendency to go about two streets away and just dump things on the street-side anonymously. As for considering how much waste they generate, I suspect that we just load up any bin in our back laneway that is not already full to overflowing.

I wish we were as eco-friendly here. People don't realize that it may cost more upfront to recycle, but the benefits are enormous. Ah well...

Maybe it's because we're a small island but we are really good at recycling here. Good to see how it's done in ohter countries too.
