One dog in the fountain

Nothing like fresh cool spring water to soak in on a hot day... lucky dog! Don't miss my overflow post featuring dogs being transported:

I suppose this answers my previous question on whether it’s a good idea to drink out of them… ;)

Black dogs are difficult objects. We had a black dog once and I’ve got scores of photos from many places. Somewhere in the photo is always a black spot with two eyes and possibly a tongue.

See the spout on the upper right? That's what you're supposed to drink out of. I have, and I still do. The water isn't recirculated, you know. Just diverted from the natural streams.

Black cats are similar. We used to have one. Anyway, this photo was particularly problematic because the sun was directly overhead. I had to spend a good bit of time in Photoshop, making the shot okay to post. Generally, I try not to do too much "reality-bending", but here it was either that, or not use the shot at all and I knew I might not get another change with the dog at the right time of day.

I was joking about the water so don’t worry…

It was kind of you to notify me but I always use the mechanism for subscribing to comments and as long as that works I wouldn’t miss your response. Unfortunately some other blogs still use the older Blogger versions where of course no such facility is available.

Per has put his finger on the "comments" issue...I recently asked Denton about this same problem. I've now started to subscribe to your comments...hope you've done same on mine where comments can be subscribed to.

Wheat....some farmers here are only now starting to cut because of bad rains up until today. It's going to be a tough and interesting time for them all.

What a cute dog...reminds me of a black lab I once had. They do like water.

Sounds like a nice field regime around you. Good thing is that it's small enough for you to watch and see how they manage it. Watch out for for ploughing and harrowing and then drilling of the wheat seeds fairly soon.

My front garden has reached the minimum mtnce stage but needs aburst of work about now. The back is under review for remodelling on account climate change and the onset of advanced laziness caused by blogging and daily photography.

Love the title....

Re subscribing, my blog (not blogger software) has a comment subscribe option but not many people use it. The problem is that people can only comment on the post, not the comment, so if you subscribe to say parisdailyphoto, your inbox is going to get pretty full as you are notified for every comment. However this is an ongoing problem with blogging as I see it - "both sides of the telephone conversation" if you like.

Mine was a Lappish dog. We call them “lapphund” but lap dog is an entirely different thing and my Bonja would have been insulted by the mere comparison. Very proud she was. A bit nutty too, in fact. Like her owner, I suppose... ;)

My black lab loves the water but I am not sure he would jump in the fountain.
