Who and why
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. Camera information
My current camera is an Olympus OM-D E-M10 (2014). Main lens: Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. Zoom/macro: Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8. Until mid-2014 I had an Olympus PEN-EP2 (2010). Up until June 2010 I used a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 (2006). Occasionally there may appear photos taken with either a Nikon Coolpix 950 that I've had since 2000 or a used Nikon Coolpix 990 I acquired in 2009.

scales ... wooden ... like shingles on a roof do you mean ... they seem much much smaller ... like they have been sprayed on ...
more info please ... I quite like the effect ... and I adore wood ... not sure about this effect though ... I imagine it might be horribly processive (is that a word??)
Julie: Yes, like shingles. They're very old and they don't make them like this anymore. I'll try to get you some more info later.
