The concrete house in its setting
Some of you will remember the house from a previous post. Here it is in its natural setting, as seen from the path going up to the Bruggerberg trail in Vorderrein.
By the way, I'm contributing to a site called Expatica every three weeks and today I've tried a photo essay (the style is inspired by Conchscooter, though I am not nearly as verbose *chortle*). See here if you're interested: A day at Rigi, the queen of the mountains

Oh dear, it doesn't look at all home with it's neighbours
And I thought Swiss houses were all about sloped roofs and wood.
Good job on the essay; it was quite fun getting to see the "gaps" between the daily pictures as it were. I wasn't sure if Heidi, a naked hiker, or a japanese businessman with a billion in bearer bonds was going to appear in the next picture.
I grew up in the hills between Orvieto and Todi and I like to spend time riding motorcycles around there in the summer with my childhood partner in crime. I couldn't be American with my sense of humour could I?
The beauty of its surroundings quickly grab your attention and you don't even stop to think of the house that is not like the others. (I would have missed it if you hadn't pointed it out.)
Talk about a sore thumb ...
However, I do like that dark barn in the foreground. I also like the lines of the fields into the distance.
