Back in Villigen the restaurant Hirschen has this iron sign. One of several old posts about Hirschen here. Sadly, the dessert sampler I had mentioned back then is no longer on the menu.

Hirschen serves venison? Something I've never had — none ever reaches Manila's restaurants.

Hilda: Hirsch means deer. They do serve venison during the "Wild" season which is the hunting season. We just passed it.
Anon: True, but they have a decent vegetarian selection that can be quite inspired.
