Who and why
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera information
My current camera is an Olympus OM-D E-M10 (2014). Main lens: Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. Zoom/macro: Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8. Until mid-2014 I had an Olympus PEN-EP2 (2010). Up until June 2010 I used a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 (2006). Occasionally there may appear photos taken with either a Nikon Coolpix 950 that I've had since 2000 or a used Nikon Coolpix 990 I acquired in 2009.

This is just terrific!
My guess is that we are looking up at a chair on a porch. Firstly, let me admit that I am a wood-tragic: texture, colour and smell. So, you start from this wonderfully warm base, to which you add light and shadow from three perspectives.
So well spotted ... and then composed.
Lots of lovely wood photo ops to be had around these parts. BTW, this is not a porch, but the upstairs of a barn. I was peering though an opening... previously seen here:
Laundry
Wonderful lighting on the simple yet decorative chair, standing out among the other wood; I very much like the laundry shot too. I've been enjoying looking at your early posts (got some catching up to do). I really, really love the church towers with clocks & miss seeing them here.
