Do you know you can make jam with thses "fruits"? I posted about them (my photo was not so nice than yours!), some weeks ago and Leena (from Finland) told me this jam was very famous in Finland and very rich with vitamins. And many years ago, kids knew that one opened and slipped (?) under a pullover is terribly itchy! Many teachers have a hot memory about it...
Alice: Nice to 'see' you again, and thank you for the comment. The Wiki entry I link to mentions the various uses, and yes, jams and marmalades seem to be common uses. We have the tea with hibiscus (though I don't drink it much) and it is such an amazing red color. Maybe I need to post a photo. I'll be by to look at your page soon, been a bit wrapped up with things.
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera and other information at the foot of the page. 20150322
