A new baby in Baden

I really like the way the birth of a child is announced around here. Not all the signs are this elaborate though, which is why I wanted to show this one even though it's not from Villigen.

Are there similar ways of announcing babies where you live?

Often, but not always, proud parents will display a banner announcing: It's a girl/boy! Sometimes balloons are attached. I particularly enjoy your example.

Oh, I love this! It's wonderful to see such joy. About baby announcements here, I cannot remember seeing any in the parts of Portland I've traveled. Back in Jackson, Mississippi, people often put wooden cut-out storks, much like this one and dressed in blue or pink, in their front yards.

So glad that you're enjoying Portland because I'm certainly enjoying yours from Villigen.

Amazing. What is "Mia" the name of the baby or its sex. Male or Female. Here they usually display the baby's sex with blue or pink storks.

Hello all and thank you for commenting.

OML: The name of the baby is Mia, and it must be a girl. The pink-blue girl-boy association isn't as strong here as it is in the US (if there is one here at all, can any of my readers comment on this?).

So cute. I never seen such a sign.
In the southwest of France, we have something similar for elected official as mayor.
