Wildflower: Mountain cornflower

This will be the last of the wildflower series, at least for now. Centaurea montana (Berg-Flockenblume) is native to the mountain ranges of Europe, though now it has spread around the world.

WOW! I LOVE your flower and butterfly pix and appreciate the latin names, lovely work, this, and the other.

This looks a little like a bachelor button and a little like knapweed.

Ah ! Un Bleuet ! This is the french name. It reminds me when I was little girl, we could see in wheatfields, some cornflowers together with poppies and wild daisies. It was a beautiful blend of colours.

I love the smell of corn flowers. I had a shower gel with corn flower fragrance a couple years ago.

The last week has septupled my botanical knowledge. Need to keep my eyes open now when "about the woodlands I will go"

It's a beautiful shade and the theme is much appreciated.
