Knautia arvensis (Wiesen-Witwenblume) is one of the most common wildflowers here. They seem to be very popular with the bees and the butterflies.

Very nice shot. I like the black border around the picture too. At first I thought this was a Candian Thistle but now see it is something else. Different and nice looking.
BEE-happy!!! :) the colors of your wildflowers will drive me "wild", Z..they are so pretty!!! and i just ordered a book on wildflowers and received it in mail yesterday...all coz i loved your posts on them so much :)
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera and other information at the foot of the page. 20150322

Very beautiful nature series! Has that old-fashioned feel to it...
Very pretty.
If I am a good garderner on next springtime I shall have poppies, blue cornflowers and daisies. Nice shot with the bee !
bees buzzing around flowers I don't mind -- it is when they invade the house I don't like them at all.
