Block house
I think this is the largest (by quite a bit) apartment block in Villigen. You might recognize the bus stop next to the post office from an earlier post (20070604).

z. the last few posts give the impression that you've had the use of a helicopter for the week. Now I know you have a GA for the month but I didn't think it stretched that far
That's a nice view. Looks like a nice, quiet place to live.
Great shot.
I can see in any country and any city they is this kind of block. It is not the best we have. Even over here in our little town we have the same. I much prefer the rose garden house.
I like these aerial shots.

But where did you stand, when you took this photo?
All your photos are some kind like paintings, not photos at all! Very enjoyable!
hmm largest block.
you should visit singapore. haha.. there are even 50 storeys high apartment blocks!
sigh, it can't be helped though, singapore is so small.
nice shot from high up!
A nice view of the area...well captured shot!
Richard: I decided I should use the hill to my advantage; I think right now Villigen might be one of only a few DP site with this option of aerial shots while being on solid ground!
Anu: The traffic on the street, Hauptstrasse, can be quite heavy. You've noticed the farmlands around, so there are many farm vehicles, plus trucks to transport the produce. There's also the PSI nearby and the commuter traffic to that institute adds to the noise as well.
Claude: I agree, I think these buildings are quite common. While they don't look pretty, I have to say that the idea of high-density housing like this makes sense. If all the people who live in these flats were to live in smaller homes, there would be less land for the farms and forests. They can be made better looking though, and it's a pity this one wasn't.
Leena, thank you for your nice comment. In today's (June 16) post I've written about where I stood to take these photos.
Abraham, Keropok Man and Kalyan: Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
