Beton

Beton (word source is French) is the word for concrete (of French/Latin origin) in German. In the background is a WWII era bunker, in the foreground a house from the 2000s. Please, no rude comments about modern architecture. A recent study (link to Detail magazine here) in Germany found that almost 70% of respondents didn't care much for modern architeture.

I've written about the house a couple of times before. I'm curious to see whether this "LinkWithin" widget will find them. Another site note: I think I'm going to do B+W treatments for my Sunday posts. We shall see how far I get with this.

Quite apart from the modern architecture this is a beautifully composed shot that works extremely well in B&W.

There are some nice zig-zag lines in this photo.

The modern house looks ugly here. In the "linked within" shots it looks slightly better.

It's nice to hear that the composition appeals.

AB: Interesting thing about the LinkWithin is that it is (or seems to be) dynamic and what it lists as I write this is different from what it was when I posted the story. I guess it makes sense actually.

The composition is absolutely great, the subjest, by its nature, is ugly...! Great job, like the shot

Very well composed shot.It is good to see old and modern structure both co-existing together.

If no rude comments are allowed about contemporary architecture then "no comment" :)

Sorry, which one is the bunker? And why does the picture look so foggy?
