Views of Villigen

After the garages post from yesterday I thought I should try to give an overall view of what the village looks like now. The construction photos are from the last two years, and except for one show the same area at different phases of the process. This is what in the US would be called "infill housing". For the most part, the boundaries of the village have been maintained. As always, clicking on the photo will enlarge it (2400 x 2400).

Some of the photos are not very good and I had not intended to publish them. But, for the purposes of this post they're alright.

Seems like the village is booming. Where do the people work? Do many commute into Zürich?

AB: Probably some commute to ZH, but I think (hope?) most work closer to home. The largest Swiss national research facility (the Paul Scherrer Institut) straddles Villigen/Würenlingen and I think many are employed there. There are also local businesses in Villigen, and in places like Brugg and Baden there are larger employers (ABB, Alstom).
