Yes, it's a wonderful capture. Shutters are good subjects and these are colourful and simple, yet very visually arresting. The branches in the foreground makes for a good composition of subjects.
I am attracted by the marks the closed shutters have left on the wall - akin to an x-ray. I wonder what it is that the extremes of weather has been able to leach out of the timber to such an extent to leave such a stain.
There must by different families. They live in the house. At different times they ordered the painter for refreshing the shutters. The marks on the wall are from the rain. The adjustable slats duce the water against the wall. Must be the westside of the house. A hous with no overhanging roof. Have you seen the left blue shutters. They havn't as many slats than the others !! All these shutters aren't industriel production.
This photo yielded more comments than I expected! Thank you all very much for taking the time to write. :-) And welcome to some of my new-ish visitors: Marc, Birdman, Walker, White Oleander. I will come by and visit your blogs, but right now time is a little tight.
Walker, you're right, they're blue on one side and green on the other. As to matching the interior, I have no idea.
Julie: Not leached out of the wood, more along the lines of what Wellingtonia suggests. I wonder if some of it might also be a mo(u)ld-like thing, the wall area behind the open shutters gets less light and air so that could be a possibility.
Wellingtonia: See answers above. Different colors on two sides. Yes, westside. They raised the sill on the left ground floor window. Maybe kitchen or bathroom? The motorway: that would be our lovely Hauptstrasse. We have a lot of traffic (in my opinion) in comparison to the size of the village.
pretty pastel color-ed shutters... such a nice find, Z! the post reminded me of another blogger's: it's an image which is imprinted on my mind indelibly i guess: have a look: http://mdc-scapes.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-12-17T20%3A37%3A00Z&max-results=1
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera and other information at the foot of the page. 20150322

Lovely composition. I really like the colour combination. Well spotted!

Nice shot!
I wonder if the shutters are different colors on the two sides. When closed they may match the interior better. Just a thought.

Hi
There must be a motorway near the house.
The marks behind the shutters are from the air pollution.

Love the picture. Very nostalgic and European.

Simplicity at it's best. Lovely photo.
