This is really amazing! I love gargoyles, and though there are none here in Serbia as a rule, I went not long ago to Vrsac, about an hour and a half away, where I photographed some metal gargoyles very similar to yours! I don't know if you have an email where I can reach you, but if you write to me at my email on my site, I'd be happy to send you a photo!
I love what you have been doing photographing details. Makes me think that you live in an especially detailed place but I bet if I went looking I'd find plenty around here too.
Bibi: Hello and welcome to Villigen! My email address is given right below my 'who and why' near the top of my page.
Scottsdale Julie: Great!
Karen, Halcyon, Claude: I sometimes wonder: what will people like me spend time observing in cities in the future? Maybe the answer is that there's so many diversions these days, people no longer have the time or interest to stare at boring old buildings.
Z, your photography appears so inspired lately.....and for god's sake I am not saying it wasn't great earlier....just that, it feels that you are putting so much more of your creative energy into your photographs.......feel free to correct moi, if i am wrong :) and keep 'em coming :)
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera and other information at the foot of the page. 20150322

I too love exquisite architectural details.
Very neat! It's too bad modern buildings don't pay so much attention to detail. I guess it makes us appreciate the old stuff even more.
Wonderful.. I love the detail and to have both utility and beauty in the same object is something we should have more of..
The copper has aged to a beautiful patina, too.
Old buildings always holds some beautiful details. This one is absolutely magnificent !

Moi: What a great thing to hear! However, a lot of these recent posts have strayed from showing the village of Villigen, haven't they.
the littlest of changes sometimes can be very refreshing, don't you think! :)
I am readying myself for some probable ones too...if they do happen, i will keep you posted :)
Strange but beautiful and great green/blue colour combination!
