Oh, yes! Great post & reminder. When we lived in Hochdorf in 1988, it rained on the day (after weeks of really nice, hot weather) and the village bonfire had to be helped with a lot of kerosene, but it was successful! I'm going to look for my pictures. Are you doing the paper lanterns with the canton logos with candles inside. I really liked those too.
Oh, dear - rain. Not good! Is this less jingoistic than others. Ours is nearly impossible to tolerate - it brings out a very low form of what is known as "mateship". No bonfired (its in the middle of our tinder-dry summer)but lots of electric barbies.
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera and other information at the foot of the page. 20150322

I am sure they will look quite colorful tomorrow.

PS. I posted a butterfly on my site (Thursday) - no open wings but at least it stood still for me. :)
Rain is what we have so far!!! Tash: the kerosene might have to be used here as well!
