Photos from Villigen, Switzerland and surroundings
Nigella damascena. Jungfer im Grünen. I've featured this last year, but it's such an extraordinary flower (to me) that I thought it deserved an encore.

Lovely. Is it related to Poinsetta -- looks like the blue petals are similar in shape.
Very beautiful flower !
This morning I hung 2 birdhouses a friend gave me.
Shalom from Jerusalem. Glad to find your blog because I love and miss lovely Switzerland.
I think blue is the order of the day in nature photos. Very pretty flower!
Hi Z, thanks for posting it again. I missed the earlier one.
Oh my, this flower does look different from the others. Not to mention beautiful too.
Does it bloom all year round?
Definitely deserving of an encore - how stunning.
I love these flowers too - absolutely stunning.
What a beautiful portrait! I have these in my front garden as well.
Thank you all for your comments! I'm sorry it took me so long to respond.
Tash: I don't think so, though I do see what you mean.
Claude: I saw them, they look really nice!
Dina: Peace to you too, and welcome to my Villigen blog!
RR: I have a great weakness for blue flowers and if I plan a garden, I think it shall have mostly blue and white flowers.
MJ: No, only when it's warm enough.
