Who and why
I started this blog in Jan 2007 as a member of the City Daily Photo family representing the village of Villigen. I'm a transplant to Switzerland and keeping the blog was a way for me to keep a record of new things I learnt while sharing with others. I was on a long LONG break, and now I post only sporadically although I still have hopes of posting more regularly. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you have questions or comments. Camera information
My current camera is an Olympus OM-D E-M10 (2014). Main lens: Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. Zoom/macro: Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8. Until mid-2014 I had an Olympus PEN-EP2 (2010). Up until June 2010 I used a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 (2006). Occasionally there may appear photos taken with either a Nikon Coolpix 950 that I've had since 2000 or a used Nikon Coolpix 990 I acquired in 2009.

What a beautifully sharp macro! I love the texture and color contrasts together. I tried to get a similar shot a week ago, but if you look you will see it is not this good. Thanks for posting this.

We call them ladybirds. Whatver we all call them it's really fabuolous shot.
Merci for the comments! The thing about the shot is the age of the camera: a digital one from 2000 which is really, really old. It has a "sweet spot" for macros which IMO works very well. I'm still looking for a replacement compact camera to match it.
