Anticipating leftovers

Fondue Chinoise (pieces of fish or meat cooked in bouillon or broth at the table) is a popular Christmas meal in Switzerland. Fondue is somewhat of a misnomer in this case, but the basic concept is the same as the cheese fondue (Wiki).

Although I had intended to, I didn't manage a photograph after the pot was filled and the table was set. Two days in a row!

I did not knwow this Fondue but why not. There is also the "fondue bourguignone". Do you know ? Small pieces of beef meat you roast in boiled oil and we eat with different sauces.
There is also the "pierrade". You cook on a hot stone some pieces of meat or fish and you eat with differents sauces too.

Claude: Yes, I do know the oil Bourguignonne, though I haven't tried it. The pierrade sounds a little like Tischgrill-ing or table grilling that's done on the table-top Raclette grills. Instead of meat, I prefer vegetables such as zucchini and capsicums. Yummy!

Nice photo Z. I have to admit I enjoy the traditional cheese fondue thing, especially at this time of the year if you have it outdoors while up in the mountains skiing. Even having to stand on a chair and sing a silly song if you drop the bread in....
