Context for defences
Several weeks ago I posted a photo showing part of this scene and I asked if anyone knew what the urn was intended for. Richard in Zürich asked for more context so here it is. Notice the sad, empty planters -- this side of the street is mostly in shadow during this time of year.

ah! Is it made of metal or leather? Do I notice that one side is flat? If flat I think it might be a side sling bin to place across the bullock's or cow's back (one each side) to carry fodder??????
