A year ago today

Last year on the 5th of March a heavy overnight snowfall blanketed our region. It was a Sunday morning so there was little traffic, and I grabbed the camera just as the snow plough came by. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to adjust the white balance on the camera and this is the image as it was recorded. The light was actually rather bluish in reality, I just can't remember if it was that blue.

If you get snow, you get it really much.
I should study about this white balance, because my camera can not put it right automatically and my photos are at first always too blue.

Nice week to you!

ooooh, that Sunday last year was soooo much fun in Zurich! We got about 40cms, which is unheard of. The sun came out as soon as it stopped snowing. The trams stopped running for the first time in years because they couldn't make it through the snow. But everyone was out and about enjoying the snow, sledding and snowboarding down the streets, making snowmen & having snowball fights with complete strangers. Everyone was laughing & smiling. I wish we had more days like that. This year it has only snowed once in the city

Mimmu: I haven't figured it out perfectly, but I am able to get pictures to look more or less the way I want to by tinkering with the white balance. Learning how to set my own WB has been very useful (lots of cameras have this capability), as long as I remember to change it for the next time!

ainz: It was very nice, wasn't it. *sigh*

Could very well have been *that* blue. Doesn't look unreasonable for an early morning shot. Sounds like a nice memory. And on a Sunday too!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I really like the blue - it makes the red/orange snow plow stand out. And when you enlarge the photo you can see that the driver is wearing a hat.
