Georgia on my mind

I saw this car with US license plates from Georgia in Baden a few days ago. Proof of Baden is the BrownBoveri-strasse sign to the left of the traffic light. Brown Boveri were the founders of the engineering firm BBC that merged with ASEA around 1988 and is now known as ABB. Headquartered in Baden.

Funny to see a Georgia car in Switzerland! ABB is one of our main competitors. I work for one of the largest German companies in the world.

Do wings attach to this thing somewhere or do you figure it's amphibious?

Must be expensive to ship it over.

Hello all, thank you for writing.

From what I've read, the X6 is manufactured in South Carolina so in fact it would have been shipped over from the US. I had initially thought that it might have been built in Germany and that the car was being 'picked up' by the Georgia-owner from Germany, like is the case with some other high end cars.

It might be someone in the military. The higher-ups are often allowed to ship a car over. The US still has quite a few bases in Germany. I think they would still be required to display German tags though. But maybe not since a military base is considered US soil.
