I thought it would be easy to find information on what is produced in this greenhouse, but I was mistaken. If the one in Villigen (Geiser+Schwarz) is anything to go by and some other information I found about the area, it's to raise saplings for fruit and vegetable plants. The greenhouse facility appears to be at least twice as large as the Schwarz one.

Beautiful photograph...that's got to be the biggest greenhouse I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteJacob: It does look gigantic, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe company might be called Profiflor. There's not much information on the web. I've stumbled on a farm/shop in Rüfenach called Chrättli (http://www.s-chraettli.ch/). Their wood oven bread and vegetables looks mouth watering. Too bad I'm not really in the area.
ReplyDeleteAndreas: Thanks for your efforts. I'll have to go by there one day and try to find a sign. Profiflor seems to have been closed down in 2007 (you can look it up in easymonitoring, for example).
ReplyDeleteI did know about Chrättli although I've never bought anything from them. Perhaps I should go have a look-see. Oh yeah, I could get some cherries!
Profiflor Pflanzen AG closed down in 2007 but Profiflor AG did not (http://www.moneyhouse.ch/u/profiflor_ag_CH-400.3.015.845-9.htm).
ReplyDeleteAndreas: How interesting! There was also a Profiflor AG (formerly called Profilor Invest AG) in Rüfenach (CH40030095084) in Nachlassliquidation in 2000. Is this a typical history for many companies?
